Washington DC – Curt Decker, Executive Director of the National Disability Rights Network, issued the following statement in response to the mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.

“I am profoundly saddened by this horrific tragedy. Our hearts are with the victims and survivors of this shooting, and their families. The National Disability Rights Network joins the entire civil rights community and the nation in mourning the children and adults who we lost. It is time for our elected officials to act and to ensure that children and the adults who educate them can be safe in the classroom, a place that they should never have to fear senseless violence.”
