Social Security Makes It Difficult to Receive Documents in an Accessible Format

On August 2, 2021, the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN), along with other disability advocacy organizations, sent a letter to the general counsel of the Social Security Administration (SSA), Royce Min, to express concerns with a new policy that will make it more difficult for SSA clients to receive documents in an accessible format.

On August 12, 2021, SSA responded in a letter clarifying the change and outlined efforts to inform individuals affected by the change.12
