On January 22, 2020, NDRN filed an amicus in Waukesha County v. J.J.H. in the Wisconsin Supreme Court involving the importance of providing effective communication to an individual in an involuntary commitment case.
On February 27, 2020, the Wisconsin Supreme Court issued a decision in Waukesha County v. J.J.H. finding that the request for review had been improvidently granted.
