NDRN Board Announces Marlene Sallo to Become Executive Director

Statement by J.J. Rico, President of the Board of Directors: “I have some exciting news to share. After an exhaustive search, the NDRN Board of Directors has unanimously chosen Marlene Sallo to be the next executive director of NDRN.

She is standing outside with greenery in the background.“Marlene is a fierce social and racial justice advocate who has dedicated her career to advancing the rights of people with disabilities. Marlene was formerly the executive director of the Massachusetts P&A and an attorney with Disability Rights Florida, both member agencies of NDRN. She also held positions at the Department of Justice during the Obama Administration.

“Marlene’s extensive experience within our network and in federal service makes her the ideal choice to replace Curt Decker who retired in July. As the first woman, first Latina, and first person with a disability to lead NDRN, we also have great confidence Marlene will provide the direction our network needs at this transformational time in the disability rights movement.

“She will begin on October 16th. Stay tuned for more information about Marlene in September.”
