On February 2, 2022, NDRN joined 12 other disability rights, civil rights, health advocates and children’s rights advocates in an amicus in Ashley W. v. Holcomb in the Seventh Circuit which challenges systemic failures of the Indiana foster care system. The amicus supports the decision of the district court to limit the application of Younger abstention and the role of federal courts to address systemic issues as opposed to actually interfering with state court proceedings.
