Disability Rights West Virginia has been selected for their work investigating abuse and neglect at Hopemont Hospital, a long-term care facility. During extensive, statewide monitoring and investigating of facilities, DRWV discovered a deeply disturbing incident involving the death of an elderly resident. The investigation shed light on conditions that demanded urgent attention and change, and ultimately led to criminal indictments. The case is a powerful testament of the critical work P&As do to protect people with disabilities from harm.
