Training and Technical Assistance

Ian Watlington joined NDRN in November of 2011. Ian provides training and technical assistance for the operation of the PAIMI Advisory Councils and works on the state level to help P&As understand their role in growing the advocacy skills of their clients and callers. He also represents NDRN nationally in coalition work to help increase the understanding of self-advocacy. Ian is committed to this work because it is personal. As a person with disabilities, he has been fighting for his and others’ rights for much of his life, beginning his professional advocacy career doing work around education issues and policy. He came to NDRN, after serving on the Board of Directors of the Colorado P&A, Disability Law Colorado, in order to advocate on a national level. Ian holds a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Political Science from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC.
