Disability Rights Michigan (DRM) has an immediate, full-time Investigator-Advocate position for the CAIR (Community and Institutional Rights) Team located in the Lansing office.  This position provides advocacy, information and referral, facility monitoring and reporting to people with disabilities.  As such, issue team assignments may vary from time to time, depending on the focus areas and needs of the agency. This position also investigates allegations of abuse and/or neglect, and provides direct advocacy, facility monitoring, technical assistance and/or representation to individuals with disabilities experiencing violations of their rights.

Bachelor’s degree in human services field or equivalent education/experience in human service field, disability rights, or investigations. Must have relevant experience in human services, disability rights, and conducting investigations.  Experience and knowledge with Michigan’s behavioral health/public mental health system is preferred.  Candidates must demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving and advocacy skills.

Annual salary range:  $38,000-$43,000, depending on experience.
