People with disabilities too often find an absence of justice in a system that ignores their needs. NDRN believes every American has the right to access our nation's justice system. NDRN and the Protection and Advocacy (P&A) Network work to improve conditions in correctional institutions and during the re-entry process that address disability-related issues.

    NDRN Joins Amicus in Court Access Case

    October 20, 2017

    NDRN in an amicus drafted by the firm of Godfrey & Kahn pro bono in arguing that the standard for effective assistance of counsel should be different than Strickland v. Washington, 466 U.S. 668 (1984) for a claim of ineffective assistance of counsel in a civil commitment hearing.

    NDRN Joins Amicus in Transportation Case

    August 9, 2017

    NDRN joined the Impact Fund and ten other disability and civil rights organizations in an amicus arguing that plaintiffs showed that a class action was appropriate and the plaintiffs met the commonality requirement even in the absence of an explicit system-wide policy governing hotel transportation services.
