Health Care

NDRN believes individuals with disabilities have the equal right to access high-quality, affordable healthcare that meets the specific needs of the individual and includes mental health services. To achieve these goals, the Network's efforts at the state and local level include individual casework and community training programs. At the national level NDRN advocates for public policies that support access to quality health care and services for individuals with disabilities.

The Senate has begun debate on health care reform and some are trying to pull the wool over the eyes of Americans.  Do not be fooled!  Any plan being considered in the Senate will mean millions, including many people with disabilities, will lose health insurance.

Whether it is replace and repeal, just repeal, or the new buzz phrase a “skinny bill,” they all mean millions will lose health insurance. Even worse, some versions include hundreds of billions of dollars in cuts to the Medicaid program to pay for big tax cuts for big businesses and the mega-rich.

Your Senators need to hear from you!  Please take a moment to send the following letter to your Senators. Let them know about the importance of voting no on any version of the Senate health care reform bill that may be voted on this week.
