POSITION DESCRIPTION
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE:
SALARY: $45,000-55,000
Basic Job Description: Provide research, writing and dissemination support and direction to projects housed in the Center for Workforce Development
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide research, writing and editing assistance in the preparation of reports, proposals, presentations, correspondence and other products
- Identify and disseminate resource materials on selected topics
- Help design research activities and protocols
- Help maintain routine communications with project funders, partners and other stakeholders
- Lead responsibility for maintaining and improving a high quality outreach and communication strategy to promote the products and services of the CWD to stakeholders at the local, state and national levels.
- Help produce a variety of program materials such as conference programs, routine and special correspondence , (real and virtual), and quarterly reports.
- Assist with planning and organization of conferences, retreats, and meetings.
- Assist in managing website content
- Conduct research (web-based, library, personal interviews) on selected issues and topics; collect data from a variety of sources
- Perform first and second level analyses of data
- Assist with development of and building and maintaining partnerships with organizations and agencies doing similar work
- Represent project/program at selected meetings and conferences
- Serve on IEL-wide ad hoc committees and planning groups
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in education or a related policy arena
- Proven organizational skills
- Documented skills in writing and critical analysis
- Strong organizational/management skills
- Documented experience creating and implementing dissemination and utilization plans
- Demonstrated written and oral communications skills
- Documented capacity to work effectively as a team member
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience with various software packages: e.g. Microsoft Word, Access, Excel,
PowerPoint, Adobe applications; some experience with Web-related software preferred
- Interest in education, workforce development ,disability and/or public policy, leadership and reform
