TOP 7 THINGS TO DO WHILE IN NEW ORLEANS
as suggested by the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau
(for other ideas, go to www.24nola.com )

1. Cafe du Monde for breakfast – beignets & coffee (inexpensive, outdoors (open-air), and wonderful sights all around – musicians, performers, and Jackson Square just across the street!)

2. Carriage Ride/Tour through French Quarter (try Royal Carriages).

3. Audubon Zoo – take a cab uptown to the Riverbend area (about 20 minutes from downtown) and enjoy the fascinating swamp exhibit that makes the zoo so unique! Located in the middle of Audubon Park, the zoo is surrounded by beautiful oak trees with Spanish moss.

4. "Go Antiquing" on Magazine Street – or just walking. If you hit the area of Magazine right at 8th street, you'll find a great pocket with antique shops, trendy boutiques, funky restaurants, and pretty architecture. Fun for a lunch and stroll.

5. Arts District Walk – wander around the arts/warehouse district to see the many gems there, including the National World War II Museum. They are in the middle of expanding, and it's already a wonderful spot as is!
French Market

6. French Market Stroll – walk through the French Quarter from Canal all the way to Esplanade. Wander through the French Market at the end to see all the crafts; then turn onto Esplanade Avenue and marvel at the absolutely gorgeous houses!

7. Eat out at one of the restaurants in or around the Quarter to soak up the true New Orleans vibe!
